Neighbourhood Festival @ The Substation

Co-presented by Footscray Community Arts and The Substation, Neighbourhood spans across a number of notable venues including The Bowery Theatre, Incinerator Gallery, West Space, as well as Maddern Square, and Werribee and Williamstown train lines.

This inclusive festival connected audiences to contemporary cultural challenges; provide a safe place for conversation; and reveal the beauty of our common humanity found in the Neighbourhood.

Bureau of Works provided producing support to The Substation to deliver the events in the building.

Woke in Fright 11 Nov–23 Dec
Exhibition // Woke in Fright brings together artists who challenge a myriad of dystopian functions of our absurdist society.

Electric Man 11 Nov–29 Jan
Exhibition // Electric Man is the brainchild of Diego Pizarro, a comic-book artist who is currently undertaking an ArtLife Residency at Footscray Community Arts.

Performance // With Water Up To Her Knees spotlights underground networks opening questions of reality, virtuality and perception through oral traditions, experimental AV composition and diary-like vignettes.
